EMS made a showing at Hutchinson Island again on Jan 31 for some SCCA racing. The FSAE cars weren't on the scene but many of our members own cars were brought and raced, even a Chevy 2500 Diesel for kicks. It was freezing cold but the smell of burning rubber warmed our hearts. Click to see pics

The car is coming together nicely, so far we are only about a week behind schedule. Due to minor suspension geometry and wheel modifications we had to rethink certain aspects of the car. All situations have been resolved and we are back on track in the fabrication process.

The rear suspension is coming to a close. We have designed and fabricated the rear monoshock suspension and that should be done by the end of the week. The engine is running with the turbo and the wiring has been completed. Everything has been test fit in the frame and we are prepping it for paint.

The two things we lack to be able to drive it are front suspension and steering. While waiting for the CNC shop to finish out front uprights we used the schools rapid prototype machine to make plastic uprights in the mean time so that we can go ahead and fabricate the front suspension and steering so that when we get the aluminum ones all we have to do is bolt them up. The car should be ready to drive in about two weeks if all our parts come in.
