We are the Georgia Southern University Formula SAE team. As an extracurricular club on campus we put to use the skills we have learned in our classes to design, fabricate and race a formula style racecar in ten months. We compete every May in Detroit Michigan against approximately 120 other engineering schools from all over the world. Two years ago we competed with the cheapest car at the competition and came in only three seconds after the team the won first place. It weighed over 700 pounds and had a sheet metal body.

The 2010 car was all about change. We chose not to emulate any prevoius car we've seen or built before but instead aimed straight for the heart of the competition, which we feel many schools have long abandoned. FSAE is about constructing a car that could be marketed to the weekend autocrosser. Eagle Motorsports consists of racers that happen to be engineers, therefore we took the experience we already possessed and built a car that was simply meant to race. Our cars do not carry the multi-hundred thousand dollar price tag most schools do; it's a car meant to last, and meant to win races. 

This car placed 22nd out of 122 competing teams at FSAE Michigan 2010, and we plan to build upon it for future events and as we begin the design stages for the next car. We have proven without a doubt that Georgia Southern can be a worthy opponent on the track and in the arena of design.
